Course Description

A good computer system is one thing, but a system that meets its users’ needs is another. This Master’s programme will give you everything you need to become an expert coordinator of ICT, people and organisations. The Netherlands is the European leader in information science. By providing excellent training in a stimulating research environment, Radboud University Nijmegen is thus a leader among leaders, producing graduates who ensure that good software is also useable software.

Broad applications

Our close links with research at the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (ICIS) mean that you will be taught by top researchers and ICT experts. Nijmegen is best known for its specialisations in information architecture, systems theory, and the quality and safety of information systems. But we are also known for our breadth. You might thus find us working on better diagnostic techniques in hospitals, or improving banks’ capacity to move money safely.

Thanks to our close contacts with the private sector, we guarantee interesting speakers and a wide choice of internship places.

Really challenging training

Our programme has been praised by external experts, who have declared it to be both varied and challenging. For example, students run their own software company, GIPHouse, where they practice for careers as managers and ICT specialists. For those who prefer to develop a proficiency in research, there’s the research lab. The overall programme takes a personal approach with individual supervision.

Extending the boundaries

Nijmegen’s information specialists work closely with colleagues from other disciplines, such as law, medicine, brain research, and artificial intelligence. Because information systems have a wide application, this programme shows you how to look beyond the borders of your own discipline. The annual study trips – to countries such as India, Uganda and South Africa – will enable you to extend your own boundaries.

Career prospects

There is a big demand for highly trained information experts who can apply good, user-friendly technology. Many of our students are offered jobs even before they have graduated. Most graduates go into industry, banking and insurance, or to public-sector organisations such as schools and hospitals.
