Programme

Our Master’s study is closely related to the research being carried out in the Institute for Mathematics, Astrophysics and Particle Physics (IMAPP). Nijmegen mathematicians are very open-minded and have established many types of different relationships with other disciplines and research institutes. This has resulted in stimulating research and interesting study choices.

Specialisations within the Master's Programme in Mathematics

You can choose from the following specialisations:

Personal tutor

Under the guidance of a personal tutor, this Master’s programme offers you considerable freedom to follow your own interests. Within your specialisation you can select a research group and you will be allocated to a personal tutor. Together you will decide the research area you wish to focus on and the most appropriate specialisations and subject choices. In short, you will develop a tailor-made programme based on your own wishes.

Dutch Mastermath

The Departments of Mathematics in all Dutch universities have coordinated their efforts to enhance their Master’s programmes in Mathematics. Each year they work together to develop a collective programme of special courses selected from different training programmes. This enables students to profit from the best that each Dutch study in mathematics has to offer.

Career prospects

Our graduates are analysts and problem solvers who make contributions in many fields. Most find a job immediately after graduating either in trade and industry, the financial sector, ICT or management.
