Are you fascinated by languages and communication? Are you interested in cultural differences between groups of people? Do you want to learn more about international politics and history? Our BA in Minorities and Multilingualism covers all of these areas. You will learn about the languages and cultures of both old and new minorities in Western societies, as well as discovering the fascinating interaction between cultural backgrounds, political decision-making, social pressure and language behaviour.
Our BA in Minorities and Multilingualism has been ranked as "Top-Rated Programme" by Keuzegids 2019.
The programme explores the political and historical aspects of minorities in combination with courses in linguistics and multilingualism.
You will become an expert in the field of minority groups and multilingualism. We also offer you the opportunity to specialise in one particular minority language.
The University of Groningen is the only university in the world to offer a specialisation in Frisian language and culture.
The minimum entry requirements for this programme are three A-levels.
Policymaker, teacher, translator, communication specialist and jobs in government, NGOs or cultural organisations, academic researcher.
