Programme introduction

During this bachelor’s programme, you will learn to express your ideas, feelings and fascination in images, using different materials, techniques and media. Each time you ask yourself: what is it I want to say? What do I want the public to feel? You can use any medium you want: paintings, films or photographs, a spatial performance or computer simulation. We will teach you the skills you need to express yourself in whatever way you want. The imagination you need is yours to find.

Course structure

The Bachelor of Fine Art takes four years. Each year consists of two semesters of 16 weeks, concluded with a group work review and a project week or excursion week. Central to our curriculum is your own work, made in the studio. You will be introduced to a wide variety of approaches to art, concepts, mediums, materials and techniques. You will learn to reflect on our own work and that of others. During the first two years, you will carry out assignments to gain knowledge and skills. You will also work independently to fully develop and explore your own artistic process. In the third year, you will focus on your personal development as an artist in the studio. The final year is all about defining who you are as an artist and the uniqueness and quality of your work. You will write a final thesis and artistic statement and take part in a joint exhibition with your fellow students.
