How do you train and motivate employees? What is excellent leadership? And how do you create teams that ensure great performance? Human Resource Managers tackle these questions.
In the one-year Master's degree programme in Human Resource Management (HRM) you learn to accomplish organisational goals by matching tasks, roles and positions with a company's strategy and environment. Also, you learn about traditional fields of personnel management such as recruitment, selection and training.
As a student of HRM you will explore HRM policies and practices. You learn to anticipate changes which affect the management of work and people within an organisation. These can be internal and external changes. Therefore topics such as technological development, internationalisation of business and changing legislations are of interest as well. Also, you learn to function within different management teams.
In this programme you take specific HRM courses like Work Design and Team Processes. In addition, you take managerial courses and courses on social topics such as social security and labour conditions. You complete the programme by writing a thesis.
Job perspectives
After completing this programme you can work as a human resource manager in business and at government institutions. Positions in personnel management, training coordination, recruitment and selection or working conditions management will suit you. It is possible to pursue an academic career as well.
