Course description

Are you looking for a unique experience abroad to prepare yourself for a career in an international organisation? Do you want to challenge yourself academically and distinguish yourself from your fellow students? Then Tilburg have the challenge for you! We have a unique, English-taught double degree programme with the University of Trento in Italy.
This double degree programme in Sociology has a duration of two-years (for 120 ECTS). The Double MSc results in two academic Master titles, one in Sociology from Tilburg University and one in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Trento. Tilburg University and external students spend semester 1 in Tilburg, semesters 2 and 3 in Trento, and semester 4 (including writing the Master's thesis) in Tilburg. University of Trento students will start the programme in Trento and will finish in Tilburg. The educational programme at Trento focuses on political research, social policy and qualitative research.

Career Prospects
Sociology is a broad programme that can lead to employment in a wide range of fields, giving excellent employment prospects for graduates, both within the Netherlands and beyond. People with a Master's degree in Sociology work for either local or national governmental institutions, private companies, and for research agencies. The work may be in the field of labor and employment, culture, welfare, recreation, entertainment or health care. Sociologists may be employed as researchers, policy officers, advisors or management team members. Jobs in communication, media, research and education are also suitable for sociologists. Some graduates work as organisational or human resources policy advisors in the public or private sector.
